Moira Abram, LMT, CPT, CD

Moira Abram's first encounter with natural healing came through a Tai Chi course while as a college student in the mid 1990's to help her cope with mental stress and depression. The tremendous benefits she experienced opened a door to a world of holistic wellness that transformed Moira into a perpetual student of the healing arts. Having always felt a connection to the powerful journey of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood, her additional interest in the art of midwifery led her to become a professional childbirth doula, certified in 2001 through Doulas of North America. In 2003, she solidified her commitment to the wellness profession, and received her massage and polarity therapy certification from the Polarity Realization Institute in Ipswich, MA. That same year, Moira established her practice in Beverly Farms, MA which she currently maintains in addition to her practice in York at GLOW.

Moira intuitively blends a variety of wellness philosophies and therapies that she has studied over the years; among them are thai yoga massage, shiatsu, tui na, acupressure, myofascial release, neuromuscular technique, ayurveda, polarity, craniosacral, reiki, sacred hot stones, herbalism, and aromatherapy; to create a customized session to meet her clients’ particular needs at the time of treatment, and their overall wellness journey.

She also specializes in wellness and support for the childbearing year; which includes massage and bodywork for preconception/fertility, pregnancy, childbirth/labor, postpartum, and newborn/infant massage instruction. As a childbirth doula, Moira holistically supports expectant families through the birthing process, serving as a guide with a calming and nurturing, yet confident and fortifying presence. As a mother’s birthing experience unfolds, Moira integrates massage, present moment breath awareness, movement and yoga, and other pain-coping, paradigm-shifting practices to support each woman’s natural ability to birth her child.

Moira is passionate about helping her clients realize a healthy, present-minded lifestyle that's abundant with many sacred moments of connection, peace and well being.

Moira is blessed to share her life with her wonderful husband-to-be Jim, amazing son Ethan, and two very energetic German Shorthair Pointer dogs among the pine trees in Cape Neddick, ME. She highly enjoys cooking and sharing food, herbs, and flowers from her beloved garden; bike rides, woodland hikes, skiing, and beach time - all with her family; greeting the day with morning yoga, and conversing with kindred spirits over a lovely cup of tea.
